A Brief History

Paralyzing Silence has been around for about half a year now, I think, but it hasn’t always been this... professional. Or organized for that matter. In fact, my first ever website was a small, photobucket made graphics website with a Freewebs template and a dream to be like other, more sophisticated and advanced websites. It was actually Warriors themed, like so many others in that time. I believe I called it Goldstar’s graphics, or something along those lines, with Goldstar meaning me. I don’t really know why I chose that to be my Warrior name, but that’s what it was and I liked it.

Slowly I began to realize that the fansites I fantasized about weren’t just freewebs site with advanced templates, but html or php based layouts with all kinds of technical and mysterious opportunities and capabilities. I wanted one. So of course, I couldn’t start out with a layout made on my own, so I used one of the magnificent Summerscent’s (currently known as Mimi) layouts called Glowing Pride http://. And so my first ever html website was in existence. From then on it was called Glowing Pride’s Graphics, and a whole world was opened to me.

Soon I started to wonder if I had what it takes to make a layout of my own, and I did! I took a photobucket picture with to cats bounding through a dark rainforest with rain pounding their pelts and built a layout around it. I used a layout base code from a neopets website and created a dark, stormy and kinda chunky first layout for Glowing Pride’s Graphics. Others who owned Warrior fansites began affiliating with me and the viewers soared. I joined topsites and chatted with friends almost everyday, and soon I was making layouts about every month.

I had one friend who I requested a layout from who made it right before I made my first one, and I regretfully never got to use it before she closed her warriors website, opening another called Strawberry Lemonade. It’s still up I think, but we don’t really stay in touch anymore. Some of my other old friends include Dewfeather (Dewy) and Willowleaf (Willow). They inspired me more than you could ever imagine, but they also closed their websites for similar reasons I think. But one of my oldest friends who was also staff of a later Glowing Pride’s Graphics was Sandstar , or Sandykinz, and her site is STILL UP! This makes me so happy because she is one of the few who has taken her site all the way, and I seriously admire her for that. Even though it’s a new site that she has up, it’s one of the best warrior based websites you’ll ever find. =]

Unfortunately about a year after it officially opened, Glowing Pride’s Graphics was hacked and every single page deleted, as well as the files. I lost everything and Sandy and Orangey, my two staff members, were absolutely amazing with handling it. They made a temporary layout and were explaining to people what had happened before I had even found out! I really appreciated their efforts but for some reason everything, all of my hard work being gone... It made me want to quit, and so I did. I opened a smaller, more blog based website and slowly sunk into the background and misery. Orangey got her site up and running but I’m not sure if it’s still around today.

For a while I kind of moped around at the loss of my shining fansite, but then somewhere, somehow, I found hope. I began rebuilding except this time in a more wide spread foundation. I called my new site Passed the Point of No Return or PPNR, after a song in Phantom of the Opera, a movie I was totally obsessed with at the time. That didn’t last for long until I came up with another called xxCluelessxx. Don’t ask why, but I tired of that too and finally came up with Paralyzing Silence. Now along this whole time I had been using Freewebs, a great hosting place, but with limited capabilities. That’s when I found out about Juniper’s hosting service and applied, and I was obviously accepted =]. And now here we are! I’m hoping to keep this website as long as I can and maybe even revive Glowing Pride’s graphics in the future.
